I provide a personal and professional service. If you require a consultation you will be invited to my Mayfield kitchen. Each consultation is by appointment only and last for about an hour. During which we discuss designs, colours and any themes you may have (I ask that you bring along any ideas you have too so that we an really fuse our ideas together). I shall help guide you through ideas whilst you enjoy some sample cakes!
Portion sizes for wedding cakes are slightly smaller than an afternoon tea slice of cake. This is because the cake is usually served after the wedding breakfast. Rich fruit cakes are traditionally cut into pieces measuring 1 inch x 1 inch, whilst sponge cake portions are usually larger, about 2 inch x 1inch. This means a sponge cake cuts into fewer portions than a similar sized fruit cake. Cakes should always be cut with a sharp knife and cleaned in between each cut.
